These are the names to be familiar with, from the over-70-year-old model who enjoys wearing streetwear to the Chinese doctor who wears Prada with her son’s clothing.
Given the advent of biohacking, the emergence of nostalgic fashion trends everywhere, and the booming anti-aging therapy market, it appears that the prevailing message is that youth equates to beauty and that any indication of ageing should be removed.
The fact that there appears to be a radical change occurring in the fashion business at the moment, celebrating the exact opposite, is all the more remarkable in light of this pretty bleak background. Dame Maggie Smith and Joan Didion are the faces of fashion campaigns, seventy-year-olds dominate the runway, and the most talked-about influencers are not just the newest generation of fresh-faced models but also their amazing, fifty-plus counterparts. Welcome to the new era of older women as the ultimate style stars.
In addition to embracing their grey hair, wrinkles, and older bodies rather than trying to hide them, this new generation of silver street style stars is also experimenting with bold colours, edgy silhouettes, and hot new trends. They are doing away with outdated beauty ideals and stereotypes about “age-appropriate” dressing.
In addition to decades of experimentation and style expertise, these women are bringing a new vitality to the fashion industry, and to be honest, we can’t get enough. These elder street style heroes are demonstrating that fashion knows no age boundaries, from the 70+ model who enjoys streetwear to the Canadian front row regular with millions of followers to the Chinese doctor who wears Prada with her son’s outfits.
Ghanem, Grece
It’s probably Grece Ghanem if you’ve noticed a silver-haired, immaculately dressed woman appearing frequently on your social media stream lately. The 60-year-old former scientist, who was born in Lebanon and currently resides in Canada, is undoubtedly one of the most attractive people in the fashion world at the moment. She is a street style icon and frequent front row regular.
Given her love of vivid, ultra-luxe accessories and whimsical ensembles, along with her belief that “style has no age,” it’s no wonder that Ghanem has become a trendy topic for both businesses and photographers. She has shared her everyday looks with her 1.8 million Instagram followers, attended several Fashion Weeks, and travelled to numerous glitzy events and locations this year alone. She has also collaborated with brands including On, Messika, and Estée Lauder.
Earlier this year, Dr. Qin Huilan made her fashion debut after receiving a direct message asking her to walk in Miu Miu’s AW24 show in Paris. We have been ardent fans of the 70-year-old doctor from Guangxi ever since she made her runway debut with her head held high and wearing a stylish wool coat adorned with a brooch.
She has since traded in her scrubs for a front row seat and started a second profession as a fashion blogger and model with a rapidly expanding fan base. The best way to characterise her outfit would be varied and adventurous, with menswear from her son combined with cult favourites from Prada and Miu Miu (of course).

Jaz Renia
Renia Jaz, famously known on Instagram as @venswifestyle, is a self-described ‘ageism warrior’. In fact, the content producer from Poland who now resides in Northumberland gained recognition in the fashion business and demonstrated that style shouldn’t be determined by a number thanks to this very social media network.
Jaz has always loved fashion and dressing up, but she didn’t start posting her outfits online until she was fifty years old, following her family’s advise. She quickly rose to prominence as a go-to source for fashion inspiration for ladies of all ages and is still one of the most photographed showgoers today. At 59, Jaz’s signatures? A broad grin, a striking red lip, and complete unafraidness in the face of even the most unconventional fashions.
Sørrig, Mette
Look no further than Mette Sørrig for a new interpretation of Scandi girl chic. Because of her love of bold patterns, statement textures, highlighter-bright colours, and unusual antique finds that set her apart in a sea of neutrals and minimalism, you could actually identify the Copenhagen-based digital creative from a distance.
The mother of two, who was once employed in the medical field, is now a street style icon in the Danish capital and beyond. She also serves as a continual source of inspiration for her 80,000+ Instagram followers. We are eager to see what amazing ensembles she will present to us during Fashion Week.
Johnson, JoAni
When JoAni Johnson, then 67, was chosen to be one of the faces of Rihanna’s Fenty brand in 2019, she made headlines. Since then, she has become one of the most sought-after fashion models. Harlem-born Johnson, now in her sixties, balances her work as an activist, tea blender, and jewellery designer with big ad campaigns, editorial shoots, and catwalk appearances. She also keeps a journal of her travels (and her clothes) along the way.
Cool, baggy tailoring, recently released streetwear, a few on-trend accessories (think Tabis and jelly shoes), and her gorgeous, hip-length grey hair are all key components of her unique style.

Fargo, Linda
Being one of the top dogs at Bergdorf Goodman for almost 20 years, Linda Fargo is a fashion superstar in New York, so it goes without saying that she has immaculate taste. Street style photographers frequently capture her rushing between shows each season, which is reminiscent of Upper East Side elegant with a dash of excitement.
Furthermore, Fargo’s love of fashion and creativity is still going strong as she approaches her seventies. See: the businesswoman’s nude, crystal-covered unitard from last year’s Met Gala after party, and her recent gala dinner in all-gold Schiaparelli.
Furmie Yasmin
Although Yasmin Furmie is already well-known in South Africa, her chic look and contagious charm will soon spread over the Atlantic. The 61-year-old, who was formerly a social worker, began focussing on fashion a little over ten years ago when she and her closest friend started a sustainable clothing line. Since then, her reputation has only grown.
Today, she effortlessly experiments with fashion-forward silhouettes and patterns while entertaining her tens of thousands of admirers with outfit videos and styling advice. We also adore her peroxide crop and the way she accessorises her ensembles with trainers for a touch of carefree style.
Saori Naito
Once you follow Naito Saori, get ready for a major uptick in happy-making clothes on your Instagram page. The 74-year-old can focus on what she does best—creating stunning and daring ensembles that defy any preconceived notions about style in your seventies—now that her daughter is available to snap pictures and moderate her page.
If the 74-year-old’s constantly shifting appearances are any indication, her wardrobe must undoubtedly be among the largest and most diverse in Japan. This is the type of woman who can effortlessly transition from a beige suit with Schiaparelli earrings to a crumpled Jonathan Anderson graphic tee, and then change into a gold miniskirt and platform boots for a night out. Get ready to become fixated.
